Test & piloting the TourX hospitality toolbox

Test & piloting the TourX hospitality toolbox

Bridging the gap in localizing and adapting different TourX tools

A big challenge for the TourX project is the actual ongoing piloting of the inside the Tourx hospitality toolbox developed tools and their adapting for local using in a dayly home language based training environment.

In workshops with local partners will be evaluated the accessibility, the content and the learning outcomes in using the tools.

The TourX partners University Aveiro, DEHOGA Brandenburg and their technical partner Insecia developed in a TourX complementary SSP with the prompts2teach methodology a concept for adapting its Online learning platform to new technological possibilities through the use of generative AI for digital education and training in tourism and hospitality.

Available technological approaches often only used to date as an ‘experimental use’ of AI applications e.g.to automatize formal a content translation, in a better case to map individual elements of the process chain for creating course materials, enriching them with interactive elements, or assessing learning performance.

But generative AI systems already make it possible to design curricula, examination concepts and best practice examples for the design of teaching and learning processes and the ability to define and describe prompts is currently seen as the most important element for use in teaching and learning environments.

Prompts2teach creates a basis for a future generalisable, usable methodology for updating and redesigning already developed course offerings and initiated so the continuous further development of digital courseware ressources, which were developed under TourX e.g. also for using at the DEHOGA Brandenburg digital learning platform.

Prompts2teach focused on:

  • strengthening modelling skills for the creation of course offerings
  • developing methodological skills in knowledge transfer
  • developing a model structure for learning process chains

A course development methodology that considers the process chain of teaching and learning offers a structured approach for future course development and seminar design for an Online learning platform with ‘adaptive learning pathways’.

The effective integration of AI will make it easier to improve the learning experience, achieve learning goals and further develop a constructive and creative engagement of teachers and learners with these technologies.

Prompts2tech demonstrates how generative AI can fundamentally change the development of teaching and learning materials. A comprehensive methodology has been developed that supports educators step by step in using AI responsibly, efficiently and to a high standard. This includes a structured process from needs analysis and content creation to quality assurance, testing, publication and continuous updating.

With clearly defined prompt typology, process chains and best practice examples, a reproducible model was developed that enables faster production of complex content, the design of adaptive learning paths and the creation of interactive learning elements.

In addition, first online courses in using AI for teaching and training, case studies, templates and graphics have been created that can be integrated directly into an online learning management system (e.g. moodle).

Prompts2teach thus offers a practical, scalable system that sustainably strengthens digital education and the skills of educators.

Following prompts2teach courses currently available are:

  1. AI-based course development for teaching: a methodology and process chain for AI-supported teaching material development
  2. Generative AI: use in everyday business and in teaching and learning

Existing course offerings on the DEHOGA Brandenburg´s digital training platform, particularly those on quality management, service in the hospitality industry and especially in internationalisation in VET will now continue to evolve through prompts2teach, opening up new opportunities for entrepreneurs and employees to participate in professional development through digital learning.
