An exciting Erasmus day 2025

An exciting Erasmus day 2025

The Brandenburg Minister of Education met ENAIP students during their vocational training internship in Bad Saarow

Living excellence’ – that’s the best way to describe this special day in Bad Saarow in Brandenburg’s ‘Lakeland Oder-Spree’ tourist region.

Based on the handling portfolio for the further internationalisation of vocational training, developed in the TourX project and equipped with the methodological tools available in the TourX Hospitality Toolbox for organising mobility and internships, ENAIP Veneto and DEHOGA Brandenburg established a practical mobility concept for a three-month internship for young Italian tourism professionals to explore the Brandenburg region and gain new experiences in their daily work at their host organisations.

On 4 August, the Minister of Education, Youth and Sport of the State of Brandenburg, Mr. Steffen Freiberg, met with the interns and their hosts in Bad Saarow to discuss with them all the benefits that had been achieved, the challenges and obstacles that had to be overcome, and the support that the government could provide to establish these internship concept developed in the long term.

The interns themselves made very active use of this meeting, and the participating hotels and tourism associations presented their organisations as perfect hosts.

In other words, the secret to the success of this day was:

  • Motivated & engaged students
  • Competent educators and Erasmus coordinators from the sending organisation
  • Committed internship companies and their supervisors

The planned scenario for the day was quite extensive. The joint day began with a live link to

Padua, where Daniela dal Zotto, coordinator of the international office at ENAIP Veneto, had the opportunity to not only introduce ENAIP Veneto, but also to outline the development of cooperation between the partner organisations in TourX to date.

The guests’ questions about what expectations the students had for their internship, which expectations were met and what difficulties arose during their internship led to a lively, open discussion. In particular, the question about the linguistic challenges of the German language was answered as follows: ‘The best way to learn a foreign language is in everyday life, when working together, shopping in the supermarket and asking about the next bus.’

The aspiring chefs, who are completing their internships at the Hotel Esplanade Resort & Spa Bad Saarow and the Gutwald Hotel & Restaurant in the neighbouring Fläming region, demonstrated their skills at a joint late lunch on the summer terrace of the Seebad Saarow, where international specialities, tiramisu and focaccia, the homemade Italian nut bread, were served.

This day spent together once again served as inspiration for further joint work in TourX.

Björn Blaha, Deputy Director of the ESPLANADE Hotel & Resort, outlined the current task: “We would like to recruit more interns for the kitchen, restaurant and reception of our hotel and continue to be an Erasmus partner of DEHOGA Brandenburg and ENAIP Veneto.

Let’s continue to work together in TourX and prepare new, attractive mobility offers!

‘Living excellence’ is the great potential of TourX.
