The town council of La Oliva is located in the north of the island of Fuerteventura, Spain. Currently the office of mayor is held by María Del Pilar González Segura belonging to the party list PPMAJO-UPMAJORERO. On the one hand, the organization of the town hall covers several areas of management and public services. Within these, the area of commerce stands out, whose main objective is to promote the development of business activity. The area of tourism is also relevant. The main functions of this department are the promotion of the municipality abroad through participation in trade fairs, the reception of Fam… as well as the implementation of campaigns to attract tourists and assistance to them through municipal bodies. It also manages subsidies and develops projects that benefit and improve the quality of tourism in La Oliva.
On the other hand, the council is responsible for managing the needs of its citizens, and dealing with issues such as social welfare or equality. Its work is oriented toward the improvement of the quality of life, the attention to individual and collective needs, as well as the promotion and development of people. It also offers timely information on the activity of the corporation and allows, through its website, the completion of the largest number of administrative procedures. Its aim is to create a more fluid and direct relationship between the City Council and the citizen, in order to help the latter take advantage of all the resources and opportunities.
Ayuntamiento de La Oliva is the regional authority of the Spanish Triangle. The Ayuntamiento de La Oliva’s main role will be to support administratively and technically EHE School in Fuerteventura, as well as ASOFUER in the development of their duties.
