Mundus is a non-profit organization established in 2013 in Spain, with the current headquartes in Zaragoza. In less than a decade, Mundus has become a reference entity in the field of international mobility, focusing primarily on providing hosting and sending services for students and professionals within the framework of the Erasmus+ program for VET and in the development and management of European projects that offer significant added value and improved work methodologies to the organization.
In 2022 the Mundus network includes more than 300 VET providers that lead the entity to reach 3,000 mobilities per year and 600 companies that host them. Mundus’ mission is to ensure that each of these mobilities contributes to improving youth employability, the quality of vocational training and, of course, promoting values such as inclusion and interculturality.
The projects in which the entity works include partners from 4 continents and Mundus is the coordinating entity of SAAM, the largest pilot project financed with 4 million euros by the European Commission to encourage VET mobility between Africa and Europe. SAAM, involving 24 countries (16 African and 8 European countries), 35 partners and more than 500 mobilities, demonstrates Mundus’ intention to go beyond Europe in improving the quality of vocational training.
In order to exchange good practices, foster future collaborations and have a real impact on EU policy-making, Mundus is a member of VET networks such as EfVET, EVBB, EAFA, EUPROVET. As a reference organization in international mobility in Spain, Mundus has been the National Contact Point for two consecutive years in the European Vocational Skills Week.
In TourX, Mundus is the coordinating entity of the Spanish ‘knowledge triangle’ formed by ‘Ayuntamiento de la Oliva’ (Regional Authority), ‘ASOFUER’ (Tourism Association) and ‘Escuela de Hostelería Europea’ (VET Provider), all of them located in Fuerteventura (Canary Islands). In fact, Mundus has experience creating synergies between the labor market and educational institutions, which follows the CoVE strategy. In doing so, Mundus has always maintained the focus on improving the education system and on international mobility and therefore underlining all the challenges for our society in the future.
