The Regional Development Fund of Attica (RDFA) has been established with the primary aim of accelerating payment procedures regarding EU co-financed projects. Its development-oriented character underpinned the payment process by the Public Investment Programme, thereby making it an active financial tool at local and regional level towards the economic development of the Region of Attica.
Its capacity to contribute to regional development and technical assistance, in the field of study, research and programme implementation, renders the RDFA a potential tool for growth, combining the benefits from the public, with those of the private sector.
RDFA is administered by a Board chaired by the Region’s elected Governor.
The main object of the RDFA is the management of credits by the Public Investment Programme (PIP) as well as other financing, regarding regional and special development programmes within the Region of Attica.
Its responsibilities include technical support of the Region of Attica in the conduct of studies and research, cash management, participation in EU programmes, whilst the RDFA is entrusted with other powers as well, as set out in the provisions of the Law on the RDF.
Thus, the operation of RDFA is twofold: on the one hand, it acts as accountable manager of the projects of the Region of Attica financed by the PIP; on the other hand, it acts upon the potential of European Programmes and conducts various studies and research, thereby contributing to the development process of the Region it falls within.
RDFA (P4) is the regional authority partner of the Greek Knowledge Triangle. RDFA will contribute to the project with inputs, coming from the strategic tourism plan.
RDFA will participate in all WPs, especially in WP5, focused on the promotion of systemic impact, through the outputs of the TourX project. RDFA expects to support all VET organisations to benefit from the TourX project and schedule really useful training programs in the future. RDFA is also involved in the Communication and Dissemination Activities of the project (WP6).
