For a globalised world: Excellence in vocational education

From 17 to 21 November 2025, the executive committee of DEHOGA Brandenburg visited colleagues at EUPIC in Chengdu as part of the TourX project.

Highlights of the visit included attending the opening of the China-Europe Centre of Vocational Excellence at the Sichuan Institute for Tourism and discussions at Polus International College.

These encounters provided a comprehensive insight into the current developments and priorities in Chinese vocational training and also enabled an in-depth professional exchange.

The intensification of international exchange in vocational training and further education will be decisive for further cooperation between EUPIC and the TourX partners.

The focus is on the future organisation of study visits, job shadowing and internships for learners and teachers from Europe and China.

This involves the professional coordination of different training structures, linguistic conditions, visa requirements and financing issues.

Despite these challenges, the exchange clearly showed that both sides are highly motivated to intensify their joint work and create sustainable structures for excellent, internationally networked vocational training.

The renewed meetings in Chengdu confirm that the TourX project has laid an effective foundation for this joint development.
