Internships in the hospitality and tourism industry in Brandenburg

The first edition of the new DEHOGA catalogue of internship opportunities in Brandenburg’s hospitality industry has been completed.

In preparation for the start of the new training year 2024/2025, the partners and colleagues of the TourX project now have the first DEHOGA catalogue on new opportunities for the expansion of transnational cooperation in their hands.

On 36 pages, the English-language catalogue shows trainees and students from the european educational institutions participating in the TourX project the wide range of opportunities for long-term internships in Brandenburg’s hospitality industry.

The participating DEHOGA Brandenburg stakeholders present their companies and the opportunities in the various fields of work in which the interns can gain new experience for their vocational training and further education.

These include internships in the service and kitchen of various restaurants, in guest service in the front offices of Brandenburg hotels or guest information in tourist information centres in Brandenburg’s travel regions.

And: the internship catalogue bears the signature of the target group.

Trainees in their 2nd year of training at the media workshop of the Oberlin Vocational Training Centre designed the layout. Trainees from the OSZ Potsdam ‘Johanna Just’ and students from the regional tourism association Seenland Oder-Spree took photos and tell us themselves how attractive Brandenburg is and how cool it is to work in their industry.

The framework for these internships is the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, where supply and demand meet and where all those involved show the possibilities that Europe can open up for everyday life together.

As the coordinator oft he catalogue development, DEHOGA Brandenburg is proactively using these opportunities to internationalise its work and is thus taking a further step in raising the profile of its services for Brandenburg’s hospitality industry.

The key success factors of the project work are the committed players from the DEHOGA member companies, the TourX ambassadors from DEHOGA Brandenburg who carry the project idea forward and, above all, the trainees and students who get involved beyond their own day-to-day training.

TourX and the complementary projects (e.g. the HOGAVET mobility project) derived from it to date are not only an inspiration for new ideas, the DEHOGA internship catalogue is practical element of the developing TourX ecosystem and already illustrates the successful development of this CoVE (Centre of Vocational Excellence) for the hospitality, hotel and tourism industry in the course of the project to date.
