The TourX consortium launches the Training of Trainers activities within the partners’ organizations

The consortium within the European project TourX – CoVEs for the Tourism Industry is launching the Training of Trainers activities, an initiative dedicated to strengthening vocational education and training in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The activity will be launched through online and in presence meetings, involving more than 100 trainers from vocational schools and centres. The participants have been identified within the different training centres and belong to both the technical area and the cultural/general education area, with the aim of fostering an interdisciplinary approach to training.

The launch meeting will be dedicated to the presentation of the TourX project and project website, with a focus on its main sections, resources and operational structure. The meetings with teachers and trainers will then move on to the TourX MOOC platform, through a guided presentation and a practical simulation of the Training of Trainers pathway.

The pathway represents the first phase of a broader training process that will subsequently also involve students. Its objective is to provide trainers with theoretical and methodological tools to support the delivery of learning activities on the project’s key themes: sustainability, digitalisation, local cultural and artistic heritage, and social inclusion.

The online course, developed with the technical support of the Hellenic Open University, will be available through the TourX MOOC platform and forms part of the project’s ToT Box. Trainers will be required to complete at least one training module and will also be able to consult the additional learning resources available within the platform.

Through the launch of this activity, the consortium confirms its commitment to promoting innovation in tourism training, strengthening the connection between vocational schools, the local area, local stakeholders and European partners.
